On September 24, 2019, the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) issued three significant final rules intended to improve the safety and resiliency of natural gas transmission and hazardous liquid pipelines across the United States.
The American Gas Association (AGA) welcomed PHMSA’s regulations, calling it a consensus approach to enhancing safety.
