NARUC Releases National Survey Focused on the Evolving Energy Industry

On November 19, 2019, the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners (NARUC) released the results of a recently completed joint survey of NARUC membership. The survey, conducted from April to June 2019, focused on issues related to distributed energy resources, energy efficiency, demand response, and the future of central station generation.

The survey results and analysis, in partnership with management consulting firm Utilligent, showed that members expect fossil-fuel generation to continue playing a key role in the nation’s energy mix, and that many state regulators anticipate an accelerated growth in large-scale solar.
