FERC Approves New Safeguards for U.S. Grid

On March 19, 2026, the Federal Regulatory Energy Commission (“FERC”) approved two new rules intended to “strengthen and safeguard reliability of the nation’s bulk-power system.”


The new rules include:


  • Final Rule on Virtualization Reliability Standards, Docket No. RM24-8-000.

  • Final Rule on CIP Reliability Standard CIP-003-11, Docket No. RM25-8-000.
