Biden Administration and Private Sector Leaders Announce Cybersecurity Initiatives

On August 25, 2021, President Biden met with leaders in the private sector, including energy, technology, finance sectors, to discuss the nationwide effort needed to secure the electric grid and other critical infrastructure.

Recent cybersecurity threats prompted the discussion on how the federal government and private industry can make improvements.

The White House Fact Sheet states: “Recent high-profile cybersecurity incidents demonstrate that both U.S. public and private sector entities increasingly face sophisticated malicious cyber activity. Cybersecurity threats and incidents affect businesses of all sizes, small towns and cities in every corner of the country, and the pocketbooks of middle-class families.
